Classic Cheeseburger
Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef (80% lean, 20% fat for juicier burgers)
Salt and black pepper to taste
4 hamburger buns (brioche, sesame seed, or your favorite type)
4 slices of your preferred cheese (cheddar, American, Swiss, etc.)
Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato slices, red onion slices, pickles, ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, etc.
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Burger Patties:
In a large mixing bowl, season the ground beef with salt and black pepper.
Gently mix the seasoning into the ground beef, being careful not to overwork the meat, as this can make the patties tough.
Divide the seasoned beef mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties. Make them slightly larger than the size of the buns, as they will shrink slightly during cooking.
2. Cook the Burger Patties:
Preheat your grill, stovetop griddle, or frying pan over medium-high heat.
If using a grill or griddle, lightly oil the grates or surface to prevent sticking.
Cook the burger patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. For medium-rare, aim for an internal temperature of 130-135°F (54-57°C), and for medium, aim for 140-145°F (60-63°C).
During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheese on top of each patty to allow it to melt slightly.
3. Toast the Burger Buns:
While the burger patties are cooking, lightly toast the hamburger buns on the grill, griddle, or in a toaster. This step adds a nice texture to the buns and prevents them from becoming soggy.
4. Assemble the Cheeseburgers:
Place the cooked burger patties with melted cheese on the bottom half of each bun.
Add your preferred toppings, such as lettuce, tomato slices, red onion slices, pickles, ketchup, mustard, or mayonnaise.
Place the top half of the bun on each burger to complete the assembly.
5. Serve and Enjoy:
Serve your classic Cheeseburgers with your favorite side dishes, such as french fries, sweet potato fries, coleslaw, or a fresh green salad.
Enjoy your delicious and classic Cheeseburgers! This recipe allows you to customize the toppings and condiments to suit your taste. Whether you're grilling outdoors or cooking indoors, these Cheeseburgers are sure to be a hit with family and friends. Happy cooking!
